The wee man slept in the car for most of the way there and back, which was good. But it did mean he needed fed when I got to the launch site, so I had to sit in the UKRA hut for half an hour trying to get him to concentrate on eating and stop trying to pick up all the rocket bits. While he was having lunch I managed to say hello to a couple of people, but most folks were either up at the range, or getting their lunch. After I got him fed, watered and after a quick nappy change we headed for the range, just as most people were coming back with recovered rockets. This meant that there wasn't much action going on for me to show the wee man, it also meant that there wasn't many people I knew to talk to either, which was a bit of a shame. In typical fashion, everyone started to come up to the range with rockets just as I was having to go back to the hut to leave. We did see a couple of high power rockets go off and unfortunately the wee man burst into tears for each of them. I think I'll just have to take him to a few more launches so he can get used to the sound. Once he's a bit older, we might even be able to camp and thus spend the whole weekend flying, you never know.
