Rocketry

rocketry: event reports: thrust: december '99

The flyersI couldn't make the November Thrust launch and from all accounts it was a belter with a number of J motors flown and perfect weather, hoping for similar weather I packed the car and headed out to Garlands. When I got there things were well under way, and there was a massive turn out for such a freezing day so close to Christmas.

I only flew one rocket, my level one certification rocket Certainty on an Aerotech H220 for probably it's best ever flight. Boost was arrow straight and parachute deployment dead on apogee, it didn't even drift too far in the light winds.

Not much else happened apart from Chris Key getting his level 2 and Phil Bulmer flying his sport scale Arianne 4. It was very cold by the time the sun disapeared and everyone packed up and headed either home or to the MacDonalds for a cup of tea.
