Rocketry

The weather...I didn't know about last years K-Lob event and with the flights I did at the two big events so far this year I was really looking forward to atending this years event. It's held at Southview Farm, Heckington which is where Pete's Rockets is based, so if you can't fly anything you can still spend all your money on rocket bits.

The wind...I was tentatively planning a level 2 attempt on either a J350 or a J570 depending on the weather and I had a couple of other rockts that I'd built for the event so it was looking like it would be a good weekend.

As it turned out the weekend was a complete disaster for me as far as flying rockets was concerned, I tried to fly one rocket five times, but due to ingitor failures and the weather I didn't get to fly it. Others were slightly more successful and actually managed to launch their rockets in between the bouts of rain and wind.

As with all the UK launches I've been to the flying is only a small part of the experience and the curry that most people went to on the Saturday night was a great laugh. So the weekend wasn't a total loss, and I'm sure we nearly cleared Pete's shop of stock so there should be a whole range of new rockets for next years events.
