Rocketry

Richard in the rainI'd decided a couple of months ago that I would make a bit of an effort this year and try and get along to most of the EARS launches. With my wife due to give birth to our second child in late May, this might be a bit optimistic. However, if I take the wee man with me, it at leasts gives my wife the day off. Well that was the plan, shame about the weather.

When I left the house it wasn't looking great, but at the same time, it wasn't raining. When we got to the launch site, it had started to rain and it got heavier and heavier. After chatting with Ben Jarvis and Ken Lau (good to see Ken at a lunch again) for a bit I had to retreat to the car. Mainly to keep the wee man from getting soaking wet and cold, but my legs were feeling a bit damp so I was happy to leg it.

The rain stopped for a bit, but it was still really windy and no one looked like they were even bothering to prepare anything, so I decided to call it a day. I'm currently waiting for the wee man to wake up from his afternoon nap and then it's off to the swimming pool, where at least we'll be warm while wet.
