This isn't much of a lunch report as I wasn't really in a fit state to do anything but drool. I'd been out the night before and didn't get back to the house till after three in the morning. The hangover was quite prestigious and even a full on veggie fry up only shifted it slightly. By the time I got to the launch site it was just after one o'clock and it was cold, windy and overcast, not the ideal launch conditions. Since I resigned from the EARS committee during the month, it meant that I didn't have to do anything, so I just stood around in Pete's shop and chatted with people. This was a refreshing change to normal and something I plan on doing more of at future launches. Evidently there hadn't been any rockets launched by the time I got there and there weren't many launched while I was there. It was a shame as the weather cleared up as I was driving home just before five o'clock. I don't know how many rockets were launched, or what proportion were high-power versus low-power as I don't collect the launch cards any more. What I can remember were Helen Green's Higher Whopper on a HyperTek J250 for a good flight. Chris Eilbeck had a good flight of his GSF on some Pro38 Smokey Sam reload, although the onboard video didn't work for some reason. Paul Briton spacked his Loc Onyx on an Aerotech E15 although it didn't look damaged after it's subterranean journey. Paul Lavin flew his small tetrahedron and spacked it yet again, although this time it destroyed its self upon impact. It was so cold and I was that hung over, that I didn't bother getting the camera out of its bag, so there's no photos from this launch. The next EARS launch is Big EARS and is a three day rocket fest, so I'll be getting stocked up on film and bits for that. Copyright © 1999-2007, Fatboab, all rights reserved.
