Farewell Ferengistan

I picked up Banco de Gaia's latest effort at lunch time a couple of days ago. I just happened to be in Fopp and noticed it while having a quick browse. I didn't even know there was a new Banco de Gaia album out, so I picked it up without a second thought. I've listened to it a couple of times and it's really good, definitely better than his last effort in my opinion. This means I'm still missing one album from my collection, Live at Glastonbury. I'm quite tempted to buy it on-line with some of his CD singles and complete my collection.

The Best Mix CD Ever...?

Finally got my copy of Renaissance, The Mix Collection, Sasha & John Digweed, Remastered 10th Anniversary Edition in the mail yesterday. I ordered it at the start of November, but Amazon took ages to actually get it out to me. Was it worth the wait though...?

Without doubt the answer has to be yes. This CD along with the original Northern Exposure mix are the two CDs I wish I'd bought when I was a student back in Aberdeen and was getting in this kind of music. I managed to tape a copy of Joel's (a flat mate) CD so for the last ten years I've had it in my car, but it's not the same and I couldn't listen to it in the house or on the computer at work.

Even though it sounds cleaner than I remember and some of the tracks have changed, it's still the best mix CD ever. It also doesn't skip and I don't have to turn it over in the middle of a song. I want to go clubbing now...
