Had a bizarre dream last night which spilled over into reality a bit as well. I sort of half woke up in the middle of the night and can remember talking to myself; something about having found it. I was leaning over the side of he bed and racking through a pile of magazines and books, so I must have been dreaming about finding a book or something. I then woke up some time around four o’clock to find I had lifted all the magazines and some books into the bed and had been sleeping on top of them. They were swiftly removed and I managed to get a bit more sleep before the alarm went off.
I’ve not been sleeping that well over the last few nights, I’m not sure if it’s just the heat or if something else is involved as well, but I keep waking up in the middle of nightmares. The other night an intruder got into the bedroom and tried to get into bed with us, I fought him off. The night before that I was having sex with Sarah Jessica Parker, I mean come on, she a dog! Last night I can’t even remember what I was dreaming, but I ended up flying out of bed to get away from something. I hope the weather cools down soon so I can get some decent sleep...
I've been having some right nasty dreams the last few nights, I don't know what it is, but a few of them seem to be recurring. Saturday night's was really bizarre and was a multi-part nightmare that ended up with me and a few other people being trapped in a building by a huge killer grizzly bear. It was so bad that once I woke up and need to go to the loo I was afraid to get out of bed even though I knew there was no chance of there being a bear in my upstairs corridor.
Last nights dream was equally bizarre and this one I've definitely had before. Myself and a collection of other people were being forced to climb this huge white ladder structure that disappeared into the blueness of the sky. Quite a way up we were confronted by a mantle that we all had to clamber onto. Once on the mantle we had to traverse a small girder to a wall on the other side of an infinite drop, all the time being pestered by a robot type machine.
I woke up at that point, but I was none too happy as it wasn't the pleasantest of dreams. I'm not really sure why I've been getting all these dreams lately, but I wish they weren't all so disquieting.
Had a couple of really weird dreams last night, although I've sort of forgotten the first one. The second one saw me on a train that had sliding doors, like patio doors, all the way down the carriage. One of the conductors confided in me that he was going to jump off the train while it was thundering through a station, can't remember why though.
We ended up doing down a siding where the track disappeared underneath a load of earth and leaves. We were all told that there were hedgehogs wandering about, but they looked like those armoured African anteaters, but with spines instead of scales. I was woken up shortly after that by the alarm clock.
Really weird dream last night that was partially inspired, I think, by watching part of Best Inventions on the telly. I'd made some sort of invention, with a couple of other people and we had been flown out to the States to meet with some people at a University. When we got there we were shown into this flat in a block of buildings on a main road. This is where it started to go a bit bizarre, as the back of this building suddenly became a big park area, with a garden and trees etc.
All the other got into a helicopter, but I was in a mood and didn't want to go with them. Luckily I didn't as the helicopter started to do aerobatics and fly down the street in front of the building. I ran through the garden to see what was happening and found that the garden joined onto the roof of our building so I could see into the street. The helicopter was doing wild banking manoeuvres before another one appeared and they tried to do a red arrows fly towards each over and just miss type stunt.
It didn't work out and the helicopter with my acquaintances in it crashed into the street with a very metallic crunching sound, but didn't blow up. Everyone managed to scramble free, but I didn't meet up with any of them again. After that I tried to do a deal with the university people, but they weren't having any of it without the other people there. So I tried to hack into their computer system to find out what deal they would have given me, but couldn't get passed their security systems.
After that it goes a bit hazy, but there was a party in the evening and a lot of standing around on my own by a window. There was a door covered by a big heavy curtain that had someone standing by it to stop certain people going through. I tried to get through, but they told me that I didn't want to, so I went back to standing at the window.
Weird two parter this dream, with the first half seeing me holding on to the back of a jet plane as the pilot tried to shake me off. What I was doing there I have no idea, but I was having some sort of conversation with the pilot as he tried to dislodge me. Must have been the quietest and slowest fighter jet in the world.
I then progressed into the middle of some sort of school trip, where there was a bus full of people, including Shazzie, staying in some big hostel place. We were all going out on a trip, but I couldn't find my camera bag with all my equipment in it, so I was holding everyone up. Shazzie and a few others came in to the dorm where I was looking, but I couldn't be persuaded to go with out my camera bag. Everyone on the bus was getting well pissed off, but I didn't care, I had to find my camera.
I woke up at this point, still feeling really tired and got out of bed to go to work. Most of the dream was forgotten, but the fighter jet bit is still lodged in my mind. I can't begin to think what that's suppose to signify...
Had a weird dream last night that was sort of in two parts, but I can’t remember the first half of the dream at all. The only thing I can vaguely recall is driving, but in what and where I don’t have a clue. The second half of the dream included that loveable rouge Lovejoy, who used to be on the telly.
I was driving round a city at night in quite a fast car doing hand break turns round corners. This part of the dream I attribute to playing too much Grand Theft Auto in the last couple of days, but there you go. I had a dead body on the back seat for a while I think, it was definitely there when I picked Lovejoy up in a back alley where he was drinking.
We sped through the city and into the suburbs and a lone house on top of a small hill in a patch of wasteland. We went inside and barricaded ourselves in, why I’m not sure, as I can’t remember anyone tailing us. At some point I ended up outside on top of a flat bed trailer trying to keep a man from trying to capture me, or get into the house.
My dreams don’t seem to follow any logical progression from one phase to the next, I’m just there and it makes sense. So when I started waving a burning duvet around to stop this guy getting at me, it seemed perfectly normal. In the cold light of day, it seems totally insane, but that’s dreams for you. I’m pretty sure the alarm went off at that point, but I was so tired and lethargic I didn’t managed to heave myself out of bed for another hour.
Bit of a bizarre dream last night that had me running round a deserted old house being chased by a big yellow and green anaconda. I can’t remember much through my hangover, but the snake was huge and looked totally fake. I’m pretty sure that some other people turned up in the dream at one point and that a female got eaten, but it’s all a bit vague and hazy to be sure.
I had a really weird night of dreams last night, there was one big one that was split into two parts and another that was equally bizarre. I can’t really remember much about the second dream, I did when I woke up this morning, but it’s all faded away. The first dream though I can still remember and it was the more interesting out of the two.
I can’t remember the start of the dream but I’m standing on a stage at a bit open air concert like Glastonbury or something similar. A Couple of cream cake type things are on the stage and all the band or cast members are lined up taking a bow. I pick up- one of the cakes and someone at the other end picks up one to. We’re supposed to throw them overt the band, but mine goes a bit too far and splats a couple of older gentlemen standing in the crowd.
With all that over and done with I find myself back at a caravan site, which is miles away from the concert. I can see it all in the distance, but it’s too far to walk, so Karen and I take the car. On the way we pass through a village that is on a really steep slope and come to a T-junction. Standing on the other side are a few Nepalese Policemen and they stop the car and arrest us.
We are then impounded along with a load of other people who were going to Glastonbury, as that’s definitely where we’re headed. All the cars are parked on a slope and we’re all out complaining that we have to be there by 2pm or we wont get in. I go and talk to the head Policeman and explain that we’re volunteers for a deaf charity and that we need to get there to man a stall. He falls for it and agrees to let us go, apologising for holding us.
We didn’t get let out immediately though, as we all fell asleep as it was quite hat and everyone was tired. This is getting close to where the dream stopped as I walked into a bedroom top see Karen snoring away under the covers. I don’t know if this was one of those lucid dreams where you’re awake, but your not, or if I really was just dreaming the whole thing. I’ve never heard Karen snore before, so I have to assume that it was just in my head.
I woke up shortly after that, but dream was really fresh in my head. I’ve only ever been to one big open air concert and that was T in the Park, way back in 1997. Where the whole Nepalese Policemen fit in is anyone's guess though.
Can't remember much of my dreaming from last night other than this. I was back in Aberdeen, not sure if I was back at Uni, or I'd got a job, but I was on my own in some sort of accommodation. The first thought that went through my head was that I could now buy vast quantities of porn and no one would know. Then I got woken up by a cat jumping on my head…
Had one of the strangest dreams I've had in a long time last night. Started out in a museum, moved onto a pier where a tidal wave hit and then it moved to the Forth Road Bridge.
I can't remember much about the museum bit, although I do remember walking into a brick building and looking at a load of art. I wandered up some stairs and onto an almost pavilion like floor with white walls with painting hanging and loads of windows. Through one wall, which was just glass, was a pier end with people sitting there enjoying what looked like a nice day.
I wandered out the door and was immediately immersed in a massive storm with howling wind and driving rain. I stopped to chat to an old friend called Gordon Marshall (who I haven't seen for years) and someone else. I’m not sure who the someone else was anymore, it could have been one of about three people I know, but it's a bit on the hazy side.
As we were talking I saw this massive tidal wave suddenly appear and I just had time to pull up my hood and close it like Kenny from South Park when the wave washed over the pier. The wave seemed to have no effect on me other than a bit of water getting into my mouth, but it washed everyone else off the pier. The next thing I know, I’m standing in South Queensferry after pulling myself out of the Firth of Forth and Gordon's Mum is there with a few other people.
We all start to walk round and up onto the Forth Bridge and loads of lorries are thundering right past us down this wee slip road that I know doesn't exist on the real bridge. We're all then walking over the bridge and reflecting on Gordon's life and stuff like that when I wake up. Once I'd woken up I could still remember the whole dream, it was really like I'd been there, not one of those wishy washy dreams that you forget the moment you wake up.
It's all got me wondering what Gordon's up to these days, as last I can remember he'd left the Navy and was training to be a chiropodist or something like that. We were in the same year at primary and secondary school and in Venture Scouts together. It makes you wonder how you drop out of contact with people and maybe that we should all be better at just picking up the phone...
We have two Red Hot Poker (Kniphofia Flamenco) plants in the garden, one of which has flowered this year. My dream was a bit bizarre and I can’t remember any of it apart from a bit about one of the plants. The plant that has flowered this year had two heads, both of which are practically gone, the other plant has spent the summer putting down it’s roots and should look good next year.
In my dream it had sprouted two heads all of a sudden, no growing involved, they were just there and in full bloom. Normally these blooms grow ramrod straight, but these two cam out at an angle from one side of the plant. I can remember standing around in the garden looking at them, maybe having a conversation with someone about them, I can’t really remember.
Mad, mad dream last night that involved the seaside, fireworks, stormy clouds, strangers in my hotel room and Jim Mac.
Don't know what was going on, but I'd been dreaming for a while and woken up, turned over and gone back to sleep. I found myself by the seaside in a big hotel with a balcony looking out over a bay. Some sort of celebration was going on and it was all nice and sunny and everything was quite cool. Loads of fireworks started going off over head and everything was quite happy and smiley, don’t know what caused it to all change.
I leaned out over the balcony to look along the promenade and the fireworks were all exploding about 10 meters above the ground after being blown a mile or so from their launch point by the high winds. It was a bit disconcerting as the wind had come out of nowhere and the sky had gone all dark and brooding like there was a storm about to break.
To make matters worse a radio started up back in the hotel room saying that 36 people had just lost their lives in the hail of exploding fireworks. I walked back into the hotel room and there were two blokes standing in a corner of the now very small room. One was smoking a stinking roll up, so I asked then to piss off out side on to the balcony and smoke or if they wanted to watch the fireworks.
Then in another bizarre twist someone who looked very like Jim Mac, but in retrospect wasn’t as they were chunkier, walked out of the en suite bathroom and barged past me out onto the balcony. I woke up at this point and looked at my watch, 7.30am, great, I’m going to be late for work again.
