Triathlon Update

I've been right lax with logging what's been going on with my Triathlon training etc over the last month. I successfully completed the third and final Bedford Sprint Series race at the end of last month and bettered my times for each of the tree sections to come home under one hour twenty which was my goal. I've since joined Cambridge Triathlon Club and the British Triathlon Association, which means I've got a club to train with and I'm covered by insurance etc come race day.

Getting a bit ahead of myself I couldn't find a suitable sprint distance race for either July or August, so I entered the Bedford Classic, which is a standard distance race (1.5Km swim, 40Km bike and 10Kmn run). I've got till the 28th of August to train for it.

I'm trying to do more running as I had video gait analysis done at a local sports shop and bought myself a new pair of running shoes. They seem to have done the trick so far as I've been out running about five times since I got them and my calf has held up, even when I tried to go faster the other morning.

To enable me to improve my running a nd also the biking better I've decided that I need a heart rate monitor and found a suitable one for sale on EBay. Shame I got outbid in the last few seconds as it was going for twenty quid less than you can buy it in the shops, even though it was brand new. I'll probably end up just buying one on line as I'm useless at EBay and I want one now!
